Local Financial Advisor Helps Navigate Wall Street's Choppy Waters

IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- As a wealth management Advisor, Theodore Jones of Money Concepts, Inc., has found that investing for the future is the key to financial success.

While the uncertainty of Wall Street may deter many people from investing their money, Jones believes it's important to stay on course. "We’re able to address many financial needs,’’ said Jones. “My role as a wealth management advisor is to help people navigate through the volatility of the market and work through a comprehensive plan. We do insurance analysis, provide whole life insurance and we also offer 401(k) rebalancing, which is something that a lot of people don't get a lot of information about," said Jones.

Jones, who has been trained to deal with aspects of investments, taxes and account administration, holds an initial meeting to begin each relationship with a potential client. “I want to make sure we’re a good fit, learn about them, what they’re looking for and what their goals are,’’ said Jones. "Then we’ll start to build out recommendations for a follow-up, and prioritize goals and develop a savings and investment plan over the years to help them achieve those goals.”

Depending on the size and complexity of the account and goals, Jones' recommended path can be developed in as little as a few days to more than a week. While Jones oversees the plan and works with the client, he also works with a money manager to help get the best results for his clients. “We look for managers with a good track record and someone who has worked on a good team,’’ said Jones.

For people who are afraid or unsure of what to invest in, Jones believes speaking with a financial advisor can save them stress and money. "When it comes to portfolio management, it is important to determine your plan of attack," said Jones. "This is especially true when retirement is coming and you can access the money you have saved. The question often arises about what you are going to do with it, and for many, this can be when they decide whether they can manage their own affairs or should seek professional advice."

According to Jones, evaluating what’s important, whether it’s growth, consistency or liquidity, is vital information for investing. "It’s all about education to get an understanding of what our clients want and what they have done in the past," said Jones. "It just speaks to why working with a full-service financial advisor is more important than ever.”
